I have a laptop battery of WEEE at work and allowed to recover for personal use. I bought all Gubbins, hard disk, memory, operating system, electrical cables, etc. .. But the machine does not start without BIOS password, and nobody knows what it is. Anyone who recovers first obtained ten points! Cheers.

Remove the battery for a few seconds to find the bridge and remove it.

Windows has a feature that creates a disk that allows you to reset your password if you do not remember. This function is available the control panel in the User Accounts applet. To create a reset disk password, click the user account and click to "prevent a forgotten password. You will need a blank formatted floppy disk to complete the task. Store the disk in a safe place for use in the case of a forgotten password.

Most computers running Windows XP does not have a password for the administrator account hidden which is accessible only in Safe Mode. You can access this mode by pressing F8 just after the first screen (sometimes known as the screen BIOS). Windows provides a list of options after the F8 key. Select "Safe Mode" and press Enter. Login on the account named "Administrator" and open the control panel. Go to the applet the user account and click on user account Password forgotten. Click "Remove password" and password of the account is free. This only works when there is a password hidden administrator account. This method only works on Windows XP. The hidden administrator account is not accessible via the Safe Mode Windows Vista.

Third-party tools have been developed to help you reset your Windows password. My favorite is "Active @ Password Changer. The software is the key registry which contains passwords and gives you the option to remove the password of any user account. In addition, the software works in version where almost all Windows 32 bit and 64 bit. It has DOS and Windows versions. I prefer the version of Windows because it uses a simple graphical interface and is much easier to use than the DOS version.

Another third-party tools like EBCD (Emergency Boot CD) and Spotmau Password Finder can also help recover or reset passwords for Windows. Active @ Password Changer is much easier to remove a forgotten password and not afraid of losing data.
