BestBuy refused to honor the extended warranty. I broke the hinge on the cell phone. What should I do?
I extended warranty of two years. The hinge line, break the only moving part in the cellular phone. BestBuy says it is a covered.Its has taken the decision by telephone by a "specialist" did not even see damage.I used repeatedly after that, they say that the determination by the specialist is a game I think final.I hinge that is the only moving part is tear.I wear and I'm sure there are many others who have had similar experiences with BestBuy. How should all of us to go beyond BestBuy to meet its own security? How can we avoid misleading other customers to buy these extended warranties? I would appreciate that I have a input.Do option to go to small claims court? Thank you very much in advance.
Most extended warranties have a clause that allows supplier does not accept a claim because of improper use (wear). I have seen cases in Best Buy may take up to 1-2 months to fix a computer after them, and there is nothing you can do about it unless you want to cancel the guarantee have already passed. Unless the phone is valuable, I would consider not take the time to go to Small Claims Court, probably, the judge decides in favor of Best Buy. My best advice is just take the blow, the lessons learned, and either get the phone number of your company (and get insurance, my phone provider has a no-questions policy, when to replace your phone if you have insurance through them), or buy at a place other than Best Buy.
