My computer keyboard does not work, and a replacement has not worked well?
My computer keyboard does not work (on another computer as therein). I can not enter letters or numbers in Notepad, Word, Excel, or the command-line browser. The mouse is fine. I disconnected and reconnected. I have another keyboard with the same result. Is this a motherboard or a port problem, and at what cost? A wireless keyboard to solve the problem? Any another suggestion? Thank you.
If the keyboard is not work connected to the system via a PS2 port, I would try one that connects via USB.
Tools needed:
Phillips screwdriver (+)
Needlenose Pliers
Wrist strap (or in connection with land for metal)
Large work area
Optional Tools: tape
Flashlight
Compressed air
Before starting, make sure you have all the tools you need and a clean space to work. Make sure you have all the tools and materials needed.
Unzip the package of materials from time to time and reviewed to ensure it was not broken or defective. Keep all receipts ensure an adequate return if necessary. Keep all parts in their anti-static bags and collect all the manuals that come with additional documents. Go to a room with much light and if possible ... No carpet. Carpet attachments and static electricity can damage your parts in empty guarantees.

STEP 1: THE CASE
After receiving if you have purchased, to inspect the damage. Make sure you have a power supply and case fans work (if applicable). If you have not bought their food with the case, then you can see how to install the next step.

STEP 2: food (if already installed Step 3)

STEP 3: THE MOTHER
First find the pins or screws provided with the motherboard.
Compare the motherboard and the case I / O Shield. If your motherboard does not provide the I / O Shield then withdraw and put in the E / S supplied with the motherboard.
Now locate the screw holes on the motherboard and find the holes in the motherboard (or platform) in the case. Put a confrontation (pins) in each of these holes in the tray and position the motherboard so you can see the holes in the top the standoffs through the screw holes on the motherboard.
The small metal tabs are intended to come into contact with metal parts connections in the back of the motherboard and the soil, but may have to bend the tabs a bit to get to all ports of climb, that's where the fine needle nose pliers may be helpful. If you have any problems in aligning the screw holes, make sure you have the legs in the corresponding slots in the tray.
Now fix a screw into each screw holes on the motherboard below the separator. These screws should be snug but not tight, there is no reason to couple on them, hand tight is fine, otherwise it may damage the motherboard. It is on the motherboard, it is now time to connect the other components thereof.
Try to have a dual video card, if so, ensure that the plaque reads: "Supports SLI" somewhere in the description.
